Rajah the pony and Rosie the elephant at Chessington Zoo on March 29th, 1935. The caption reads: Good morning, Mrs. Elephant. The three light “Garden-Seat” Horse-bus
|

The Three Light “Garden-Seat” Horse-Bus was used for a number of years by Chessington Zoo, who purchased it from Mills Circus. The bus was operated on a service between Chessington South Station and the zoo, until it's retirement in 1949; when it failed to pass an inspection. The horse bus still survives today and after a complete overhaul and repaint to it's original livery the bus is now part of the display at London Bus Museum in Cobham, Surrey as pictured in the centre image. |
